Smith is seated on a chair, lost in thought, her gaze carrying a certain gravity. The caption reads: “This is simply thinking of nothing. I remember my mother sitting like this. I would ask her: what’s the matter, Mom? And she would answer: oh, nothing. And now, I know what nothing is.”
