Les voix de la révolte

Presented at Espace muséal du manoir Globensky, Les voix de la révolte brings the events of 1837 in Saint‑Eustache to life. Through the accounts of five historical figures, it offers a captivating immersion into the Rebellions, revealing the hopes, tensions, and choices of an engaged population.

Hear the voices of 1837 witnesses recount the rebellion as if you were there—fully immersed.

Les voix de la révolte offers an innovative and immersive experience by giving a voice to five individuals who lived through the events of 1837 in Saint‑Eustache: two Patriots, two Loyalists, and one local woman. Drawing on the latest historical research and modern technologies, the exhibition allows visitors to hear these reconstructed figures share their experiences and perspectives, as if testifying in an inquiry. Accessible and engaging, the exhibition is designed for all audiences, combining educational depth with compelling storytelling. It sheds light on the political engagement of the Canadian population in the 1830s, while highlighting the crucial role played by ordinary citizens in shaping events. Visitors are invited to connect with the hopes, tensions, and disillusionments of this pivotal moment in history. Three levels of interpretation enrich the experience: an immersion in local events, a broader national context, and an exploration of international influences. Through an expanded timeline, the exhibition helps visitors better understand the causes and stakes of the Rebellions, while offering a comprehensive view of this defining period.
