This exhibition will take you on a journey through time, helping you better understand the origins of living species. From early humans to dinosaurs, you’ll be able to compare these ancient creatures with those of today. Then, return to the present to meet their descendants, such as the reptiles, amphibians, and fish of Quebec.
Parcourez les 5 salles d’expositions pour découvrir l’évolution des espèces vivantes.
Part 1 In the Cavemen’s Cave, relive the evolution of early man and the discovery of fire. In the megafauna room, come face-to-face with gigantic extinct mammals such as the mammoth, the smilodon, the short-faced bear and more. Finally, transport yourself millions of years into the past, when dinosaurs ruled the planet, such as the Tyrannosaurus, Triceratops and Velociraptor. Part 2 The exhibition allows you to discover the small fauna of Quebec that cohabit with us in rural and urban areas. The Sensory Corridor is home to our reptiles and amphibians, such as wood turtles, garter snakes, bullfrogs and salamanders, considered close relatives of distant dinosaurs! Continuing your exploration, you’ll plunge into Lac Saint-Pierre in the H2O room, where you’ll be able to observe bonefish, American eels and snapping turtles, as well as many other fish. Some of our specimens are prehistoric fish!
