About the museum

The manor, located in L'Anse-au-Griffon, Gaspé, showcases the busy life of John Le Boutillier, a politician and cod merchant who headed a dried salt cod trading empire. Discovering daily life in 1850 (both upstairs and downstairs), you’ll fall under the spell of this national historic monument.

Entering the Le Boutillier house, which is rustic yet opulent, you’ll be greeted by guide-interpreters in period costumes. Feel free to explore the home of the manager of John Le Boutillier and Co., which served as fishing post, general store and servants’ quarters.
