About the museum
Welcome to the Cuthbert Chapel! Built by seigneur James Cuthbert in 1786, it was the first Presbyterian church to be built in Quebec, originally serving as a burial chapel. Presbyterians in the region would come to worship here. Abandoned for many years, the chapel was renovated by the government of Quebec in 1977.
Come and admire this place of worship – unique in Quebec. Learn about the chapel’s history and the twists and turns of the renovation process. Listen to the story of seigneur James Cuthbert…
