About the museum

The Maison Girardin, interpretation center on the history of Beauport, still has many of its original features. Its gabled walls enclose two enormous stone hearths. Within its thick, whitewashed walls, under its frame worn with time, it still pulses with the life that once echoed within. You'll be swept away by the French colonial atmosphere!

The Girardin House is a great example of French architecture in Quebec. From its roof to its thick walls, it will certainly captivate every history lover. Discover the traditional crafts that helped build Beauport through its history. The exhibition «Beauport en un tour de main» offers you archive documents to explore this theme, accompanied with precious information about the modern practitioners.
