About the museum
Sitting on the rocks of L’Anse à Cale Sèche in Tadoussac, surrounded by life-size beluga sculptures, the Interpretation Center on marine mammals (CIMM) is situated at the meeting of the Saguenay River and the St. Lawrence River, one of the whale’s favourite spot. Immerse yourself in the fascinating universe of giants and prepare your encounter with them.
A collection unlike any other in North America
Come see a collection of real whale skeletons that’s unique in North America! Naturalists will be happy to tell you their fascinating stories. Compare your breath to that of a whale, listen to mesmerizing underwater songs, play researcher, or participate in the featured activity Window on Belugas, live images of belugas taken by the scientific research team’s drones. A visit to the CIMM is a great introduction, an ideal complement, or an exciting alternative to whale watching cruises to learn more about these giants of the sea! Outside, come and enjoy for free the garden, created in collaboration with Les Jardins de Métis, showcasing the flora of the North Shore and hosting the popular Whale Singing Course.
