The Michel de Gentilly mill, built in 1783 and designated an historic monument, is a testimony to the French seigneurial regime. Buckwheat flour is ground on the millstone. Several theme exhibitions and activities are also part of the current program. Its concert hall presents a wide range of professional artists and amateurs.

Le Moulin Michel is a flour mill still powered by water, an exceptional witness to more than 250 years of history. Built in 1774, it has been classified as a heritage building in Quebec’s historical heritage since 1985, following a citizen mobilization that led to the creation of the Société des amis du Moulin Michel. Recognized as a museum institution since 2019, it plays an important role in the preservation and promotion of regional heritage. Its mission is to ensure the conservation and promotion of the tangible and intangible heritage related to artisanal and regional milling. Thanks to equipment that is still in working order, exhibitions, and educational activities, the mill conveys a unique know-how that is deeply rooted in the history of the region. Housed in an imposing stone building on the banks of the Moulin River, the site has also established itself as a regional cultural hub. It hosts exhibitions, shows, and festivals showcasing professional and emerging artists, and actively contributes to the cultural, social, and economic life of the region. A true cultural hub in the Centre-du-Québec region, Moulin Michel serves several functions: it is an accredited museum, a distinctive performance hall, a reception venue for meetings and weddings, and a café-boutique with a terrace. It thus offers a complete cultural experience that is accessible to all. Visitors can take guided tours of the building and mill, explore landscaped green spaces, and walk along a 1.2 km trail that crosses the river. Located in Bécancour, 30 minutes from Trois-Rivières, Moulin Michel welcomes visitors year-round in a setting that combines heritage, culture, and nature.
