About the museum

Set on the banks of the St. Lawrence River, just a few kilometers from downtown Montréal, Musée de Lachine brings the past to life. Visit Maison Le Ber-Le Moyne, the oldest complete building on Montréal Island. Explore Lachine’s heritage in the temporary exhibition. Surrender to the beauty of the waterfront landscape as you stroll the sculpture garden.

The Maison Le Ber-Le Moyne is a magnificent example of 17th-century French architecture and the jewel in the crown of the Musée de Lachine. The house and its outbuildings, built between 1669 and 1671, are the oldest intact buildings on the Island of Montreal. Discover the Musée plein air de Lachine, one of the largest sculpture gardens in Canada, to see major works by artists such as André Fournelle, Michel Goulet, David Moore and Bill Vazan.
