About the museum

Discover the against a picturesque backdrop including a magnificent view of the St. Lawrence River. As you do, you’ll learn all about, artisanal and industrial, wooden shipbuilding in the olden days on Île d’Orléans. Did you know that at one time, over 400 rowboats were built yearly at Saint-Laurent-de-l’Île-d’Orléans?

Independently, with an interpreter-guide or with an audio guide, discover an authentic 19th century rowboat shop and its collection of tools. A great time, guaranteed! You can also learn about the history of the Shipyard of Saint-Laurent by visiting the interpretation center with its models and archival photographs, as well as by walking the interpretation trail of the Forest of rails.
