About the exhibition

The discovery of human remains raises many questions:
Who did they belong to?
How did the person die?
What were his living conditions?

From the field to the laboratory, the work of bioarchaeologists helps solve archaeological and forensic investigations. By analyzing human remains and clues discovered at excavation sites as well as crime scenes, these scientists are able to reconstruct past events.

Through a scientific and interactive approach, the exhibition highlights the important role of bioarchaeology, funerary archaeology and forensic anthropology in investigations revealing crimes sometimes hundreds of years old.

The exhibition invites visitors to become bioarchaeologists for the duration of their visit. They can take measurements, handle tools, observe artifacts under a microscope, analyze bone replicas, and even solve a mystery. Participants will also learn about the social role bioarchaeology can play, particularly in commemorating tragic events and advancing important causes.
