Originally designed for libraries, the exhibition presents archaeological research through an analogy with reading. The artifacts are showcased in a series of book-shaped cases. Visitors can open them to discover their visual and documentary contents.
The Roussillon Archaeology Museum offers a glimpse into its rich collection. The exhibition showcases fifteen artifacts unearthed during archaeological digs in the Roussillon MRC region. Among the unusual objects on display are a mysterious medallion, a pipe associated with Freemasonry, and a seashell that was used as currency.
A digital tablet also allows visitors to explore the different stages of scientific research in archaeology, always from a reading perspective. Finally, a selection of books addressing the topics depicted in the artifacts is available to visitors. A space is also reserved for presenting your own book selections.
This exhibition complements our "The Archaeologist, Reader of the Past" activity perfectly . Don’t hesitate to book it as well!
