The My Region, My Mobility exhibition explores sustainable mobility from the first to the last kilometre through a fun and interactive journey. A hands-on, immersive experience.
Visitors steer a specially designed vehicle that accompanies them throughout the journey, allowing them to discover a creatively reimagined form of mobility. Through four everyday scenarios, from home to work or school, they are invited to understand the challenges of mobility, explore innovative solutions, and reflect on autonomy, organisation, individual constraints and the pleasure of experimenting with new ways of doing things.
Being far from major urban centres limits mobility options. By inventing the snowmobile, Joseph-Armand Bombardier overcame the isolation of villages at a time when roads were not systematically cleared of snow. This is just one of the many solutions adapted to regional needs presented in the exhibition.
Why host this exhibition?
ORIGINALITY: an immersive, technological setting that captures the attention of all visitors;
ACTIVE LEARNING: the interactive approach encourages reflection, participation and engagement;
ADAPTABILITY: well designed to fit into museums seeking innovative content.
This exhibition was produced by the Musée de l’ingéniosité J. Armand Bombardier, in collaboration with the Université de Sherbrooke, the Association des transports collectifs ruraux du Québec (ATCRQ), and Trajectoire Québec. This project was made possible by the financial support of the Government of Quebec.
