Narrative (Physical Description)

Definition:

  • This field contains comments on the object.

Observation:

  • This field contains comments, anecdotes and contextual information about the object. It may also contain information useful for interpreting the object.
    Example

     Object Namemustard bottle
    Narrative Eugène Bilodeau's dog is said to have dug up the bottle while out for a walk.

Entry rule:

  • The Narrative field is particularly useful when information is entered clearly, concisely and consistently.
    Example

     Object Name plate
    Narrative This plate was found in the old privies during digs at the Field School.
