Collector Remarks (Collection)

Field used for natural science collections

Definition:

  • This field contains remarks on the collection of the specimen.

Observations:

  1. Remarks fields are for information that cannot be entered in any other field.
  2. This field contains information on the collection of the specimen: its capture, harvest, collection, sampling, first report on the specimen, comments by the collector, etc.

Entry rule:

  • Note the information clearly, concisely and consistently.
    Example

      Disciplinemycology
      GenusCantharellus
      Species tubaeformis
      Habitat/Gross Cover mixed forest; depression
      Habitat/Locality Remarks The habitat is exceptional, since normally this specimen grows in peat bogs.
    Collector Remarks The specimen was collected after heavy rain.
