	        This field contains the acronym identifying the herbarium from which the specimen originated.
 Observations:        This field is used in botany and paleobotany to identify specimens from officially recognized herbariums registered in international directories.      Acronyms: consult the following directory for the official acronym  of the herbarium: Holmgren, P.K. and N. H. Holmgren, 1998 onwards (continuously updated),  Index Herbariorum, New York Botanical Garden.1 The following is a partial list of the acronyms it suggests:
