Jardins grouillants

"Jardins grouillants" explores the subtle connections between insects and plants through Sophie Rozenn Boucher’s swarming worlds. By combining watercolor, cyanotype, and digital collage, the artist reveals the beauty of the smallest details and invites us to see the biodiversity around us in a new light.

Discover worlds where insects and plants come to life in new ways.

In "Jardins grouillants", Sophie Rozenn Boucher explores the subtle connections between insects and plants. Her images compose swarming worlds in which the smallest details become a starting point for seeing the biodiversity around us in a new light. The artist combines watercolor, cyanotype, and digital collage. Watercolor brings transparency, color, and movement. Cyanotype, an early photographic process that uses a photosensitive emulsion, reveals the imprints of plants in shades of blue. Digital tools then allow her to layer, arrange, and create a dialogue between these elements. Blending close observation of nature with poetic imagination, the exhibition aligns with the mission of the Marais: to spark curiosity about natural environments and to remind us of the essential presence of the often-overlooked life forms that inhabit them.
