Description (Physical Description)

Definition:

  • This field contains additional descriptive information about the object.

Observation:

  • Enter additional information on the physical description or the iconography of the object not mentioned in other fields.
    Example

    The iconography shows King Croesus of Lydia on a funeral pyre.

    Description King Croesus of Lydia is shown on a funeral pyre on the body of the amphora.

Entry rule:

  • The Description field is particularly useful when information is entered clearly, concisely and consistently.
    Example

    A statuette represents a dwarf with baby features.

      Object Namestatuette
    Description Dwarf with baby features, representing the union of a jaguar father and human mother.
