Site Designation (Site Data)

Field used for archaeology collections (object data and site data)

Definition:

  • This field contains the heritage designation of the site, the year the site was designated and the name of the appropriate act.

Observation:

  • This field is used mainly for sites in Canada.

Entry rules:

  1. Enter, in order, the name of the designation, the name of the appropriate act and the year of designation of the site. Separate them by a comma followed by a space.
    Example

    Site Designation Hector-Trudel Archaeological Site, Pointe-du-Buisson, Cultural Properties Act, 1989
  2. If the site has not received any heritage designation, leave this field blank. If it is being considered for heritage designation, however, make a note in this field.

  3. This field may contain multiple entries separated by a semicolon followed by a space.
