The Veteran's Museum at the CAMI Historical Heritage Site pays tribute to those who made sacrifices for their country and the people who continue to do so today.
Museum experiences
- You will meet the heroes of the English and French speaking communities of the Magdalen Islands who participated in major conflicts and world wars. Take a moment to reflect on the sacrifices these men and women undertook and to honour them.
- The Veteran's Museum offers an intimate tour that immerses you in the reality of war in a small community like the Magdalen Islands. You will be able to view photos of our veterans who served in the First World War, the Second World War and the Korean War, as well as an array of artifacts, letters, journals and photos.
- An interpreter will help you understand the social, economic and demographic issues caused by the departure of hundreds of Magdalen Islanders to the front, along with stories and anecdotes about our heroes that are sometimes chilling and sometimes heartwarming. You will end your tour with a visit to the memorial park dedicated to the Magdalen Islander of the Second World War who made the ultimate sacrifice and did not return home.
