Site Name (Site Data)

Definition:

  • This field contains the name assigned to the archaeological site.

Observation:

  • Enter all the names or designations of the site, aside from the Borden number.

Entry rules:

  1. Enter the full name, respecting the usual spelling. Do not use abbreviations.
    Example

    Site Name Île-aux-Noix
     Site CountryCanada
      Site Province Quebec
  2. Do not use the word "site" after the site name.
    Example

    Site Name Artillery Park
     and not 
     Site NameArtillery Park Site
  3. If the site is known by several names, enter the different names, separated by a comma followed by a space. Enter the names in use, starting with the preferred name.
    Example

    Site Name Vieux-Pont, Pont de la rivière Saint-François
     Site CountryCanada
      Site Province Quebec
