Cultural Context (Origin)

1. This field makes it possible to link the initial function of the object and the context in which it was used.
   Example

   	Object Name	statuette
   	Culture	Persian
   	Cultural Context	ritual

2. For better search results in your database, avoid a large variety of terms; draw up an authority list and add keywords as necessary.

Entry rules:

1. Enter a keyword describing the cultural context associated with the object.
2. If you are unsure whether your information is correct, include a space and a question mark after the keyword.
   Example

   	Object Name	fragment of fabric
   	Culture	Islamic
   	Cultural Context	secular ?

3. This field may contain multiple entries separated by a semicolon followed by a space.
   Example

   	Object Name	blade
   	Culture	pre-Columbian
   	Cultural Context	ritual; initiatory
