Catalogue Date (Cataloguing)

Definition:

  • This field contains the dates on which the specimen was documented.

Observation:

  • This field is used in conjunction with the Cataloguer field.

Entry rules:

  1. Enter the date in the form YYYY dash MM dash DD, in numbers only (Y for "year," M for "month," D for "day").
    Example

    A specimen documented by Julie Zolkavich on May 25, 1999

     Cataloguer Zolkavich, Julie
    Catalogue Date 1999-05-25
  2. If you are unsure whether your information is correct, include a space and a question mark after the date.
    Example

    Catalogue Date 1985-03-18 ?
  3. This field may contain multiple entries separated by a semicolon followed by a space. Each date in the Catalogue Date should correspond to a name in the Cataloguer field.
    Example

    A specimen documented by Gregory Pavlopoulos on June 29, 1989, and by David Rubin on May 25, 1992

     Cataloguer Rubin, David; Pavlopoulos, Gregory
    Catalogue Date 1992-05-25; 1989-06-29
