Narrative (Specimen/Description)

Definition:

  • This field contains comments on the specimen.

Observation:

  • This field contains comments, anecdotes and contextual information about the specimen. It may also contain information useful for interpreting the specimen.
    Example

     GenusCastor
     Speciescanadensis
    Narrative This specimen was used for teaching purposes at the Séminaire de Québec.

Entry rule:

  • The Narrative field is particularly useful when information is entered clearly, concisely and consistently.
    Example

     GenusAgaricus
     Species vaporarius
    Narrative This specimen was collected during the Museum's annual scientific expedition in 1964.
